Welcome to TGS – Secondary School Transition September 2025
We are delighted to extend a warm welcome to all our new students and their families who will be joining Tolworth Girls’ School & Sixth Form in September 2025!
We understand that this is a significant and exciting step in your educational journey, and we are committed to ensuring a smooth and successful transition. With students joining us from a wide range of primary schools, we have a carefully designed transition programme in place to support everyone.
At Tolworth Girls' School & Sixth Form, we go beyond academics to equip our students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in today’s fast-paced, ever-evolving world. Our curriculum fosters leadership, communication, teamwork, creativity, and independence—essential qualities for future success.
Leading our Year 7 cohort is a dedicated Head of Year, supported by a team of experienced tutors who are eager to meet you and guide you through your first year at TGS.
We hope that both you and your child feel a strong sense of belonging within our school community, and we look forward to seeing them flourish.
Timetable for Year 7 Intake September 2025
National Offer Day: 3rd March 2025
Online applicants will receive an email from the Local Authority during the evening, informing them of the result of their application.
If your child did not qualify for a place at one or more of your higher preference schools, your letter will include information about the Waiting List process and what to do next.
Acceptance Deadline: 17th March 2025
Families must accept or decline their initial offer by this date.
Second offers are usually sent out a few weeks after this date, to applicants who remain on the Waiting List for one or more higher preference schools.
Information about your Waiting List position can be requested from the Local Authority's admissions team from 28th March 2025 onwards. We cannot discuss the waiting list until after this date.
Each wave of offers results in families giving up previously accepted offers, so there is usually continuous Waiting List movement between March and September
