SIXTH FORM LETTERS
-
We were thrilled to see so many prospective students at our Sixth Form Open Evening. We hope you found inspiration and insight into the subjects that interest you and gained a sense of what it is like to be a sixth form student in our outstanding school. Applications to our sixth form are increasing year on year, so I would urge all students to apply for a place with us by the given deadline, even if they are undecided on their final choice of Post-16 education destination. This will secure their place and advise us in advance of their subject choices.

I am delighted to welcome you and your daughter/son to Year 12 at Tolworth Sixth Form. This is an exciting and important stage in your daughter’s/son’s education and our team is dedicated to supporting them as they embark on their sixth form journey. We are committed to providing a nurturing environment that fosters both academic excellence and personal growth. This year brings new opportunities and challenges and we look forward to working together to ensure that each student can achieve their full potential. I would like to highlight some key information and reminders about the expectations we have for all Year 12 students.

Sixth Form students are expected to be dressed appropriately for school, as we would expect from lower school students on a mufti day. Whilst they are not expected to wear formal office wear, sixth form students should look neat and presentable, as they would for a casual job.

The 16-19 Bursary Fund has been set up by the Government to support young people who face financial barriers to continuing in Post-16 Education or training. It is available at Tolworth Sixth Form and if you think you might need some financial support to complete your course for 2024/25, you can apply at any time between now and Friday 13 September 2024.

We are holding a Year 13 UCAS Parent Information Evening on Tuesday 24 September 2024 from 6.00pm to 7.00pm for all students considering applying to university. This event will be held in the sixth form building. The aim of this evening is to ensure that parents/carers feel equipped to support their daughter/son through the decision to study at university and the process of applying for student finance. No potential student should be discouraged from going to university through lack of awareness, particularly of the financial help which is available.
