Our Approach

The approach within the Athena Specialist Resource Provision is flexible and designed to meet each students’ individual needs. The Athena Provision is a calm and specialist area of the school where SRP students have full access throughout the school day. Staff use a variety of interventions and strategies to meet students’ needs and assess and monitor their progress towards EHCP outcomes. We are fully embedded into the wider school through our inclusive approach and focus on building positive, nurturing relationships with the students and parents/carers.

Curriculum

Students follow the National Curriculum, with the long term view of taking at least 5 GCSE’s at the end of year 11. An alternative curriculum such as functional skills, is an option for some students at KS4.

All SRP students access regular interventions, that focus on developing social skills, metacognition, life skills and emotional regulation such as:

- Drawing and Talking

·         Zones of Regulation and SEMH support

·         Life and Study Skills

·         Pets as Therapy
